Twisted Twosome by Meghan Quinn

Goodreads Summary

twisted twosomeFrom the first day I met Racer McKay, I knew our interaction was going to be incredibly brief. First impressions really do matter and unfortunately, I didn’t make a very good one.

At the time, I didn’t think much of it. I was never going to see this man again, right?

Wrong! When I’m met with the opportunity of a lifetime, there is only one man in the state of New York who can assist me. And can you guess who it is?

But what I don’t realize is he needs me just as much as I need him. I have money he’s desperate for, and he holds the key to making my dreams come true.

So, we reluctantly join forces.

Our pranks turn from sarcastic banter, to sexual tension and lust-filled glances. Bickering matches quickly morph into slow burn moments. We’re hot, we’re cold. We push and pull. I need him, I don’t want him. We’re on the verge of combusting with an agreement dangling dangerously between us. Neither one of us can afford to lose one another and yet, we’re finding it quite hard to decipher the line that rests between love and hate.

4 out of 5 stars

I have read several Meghan Quinn books and have loved them.  I tried to read Co-Wrecker and couldn’t get into it, but I thought I’d give Twisted Twosome a try.  I’m glad I did.

Georgiana Westbrook is the youngest daughter in a wealthy family, and has a seriously misogynistic father, who believes a woman’s place is in the home, taking care of the family charities.  Georgie doesn’t share her father’s views, and decides to follow her dream of opening a bridal store.  The problem – her father is against it and plans to block her from getting finances.

Racer McKay is a handyman who has been working on the pool house at Georgie’s house.  Georgie stays outside sun bathing and checking out Ryder on a daily basis.  Her best friend McKenzie has the idea to ask Racer to help with the construction of her store, Limerence.  Racer has no time for Georgie or her “rich girl” problems, and he’s a real dick to her.  Until she offers to pay him $15k for his work.

Georgie and Racer do not get along.  They barely tolerate each other.  But they have to spend time together, and the more they spend time together, the more they realize they each other pegged wrong.

Georgie is not a rich snob, despite Racer’s views on her.  She’s a person who desperately wants to break free from her family and their really dumb, antiquated thoughts on a woman’s place.  I really struggled with the storyline around Georgie’s dad.  It’s 2017, and her dad started his company from scratch, so I have a hard time believing someone in this day and age would be so old fashioned, but hey, what do I know about rich folk?

Racer was kind of a dick for the first 50% of the book.  He’s a guy who is struggling to get by.  I get that.  It’s not Georgie’s fault that he’s in the situation he is.  He treats her like is, and it was hard to like him at first.  Georgie and Racer did pull a lot of pranks on each other that were really funny.

I really liked Georgie’s brother Abe and his wife Waverly.  They were super cool.  Racer did totally win me over in the end, and I really ended up liking him a lot.  The ending was a little predictable and annoying, but this was a fun read and I would recommend it to anyone.

Happy reading.

Top 10 Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday – “Beach Reads”

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and Bookish Blog.

This week’s topic is:  This week’s topic: Beach Reads Week — top ten great beach reads, ten books I plan to read on the beach, ten beach reads for those who don’t like typical *beach reads*, ten authors who are my go to for beach reads, etc.

This, for me, is really my June TBR, but I’m going along because I don’t characterize books into category like “beach reads”.  When I’m on vacation, I’m going to read books that interest me.  Here is my list in no particular order.

Books I plan to read this summer:

virgin romanceThe Virgin Romance Novelist by Meghan Quinn.  I read a little of this and shelved it, but then I read The Mother Road by this author and loved it, so I’m going to give this one another shot.

wrong number right guyWrong Number, Right Guy by Elle Casey.  I don’t know much about this book other than it’s by Elle Casey, who wrote Shine, Not Burn (which I loved).  So I’m going to give this book a shot.

unexpected everythingUnexpected Everything by Morgan Matson.  I stumbled upon this book on goodreads, and I’ve never read this author, but the book sounds fun and there are dogs involved.  That’s all I need to hear:)

undeniably youUndeniably You by Jewel E. Ann.  Another book I stumbled upon which features dogs.  Never read this author either, but it sounds fun (despite the cover).

grin and beard itGrin and Beard It by Penny Reid.  I’m especially excited about this book, which I will likely read in the next week.  I loved the first book in the series, and I’m glad this book isn’t about Beau.  I hope there are 10 books in this series:)

talon securityCrave by Megan O’Brien.  New series I just discovered by the author of a really good MC series (see below).  I’m excited to hit this book.

rykerRyker by Megan O’Brien.  The 4th and hopefully not last book in the Ride series is about Ryker (which is a really popular name for men in books..).  Even though Ryker is a youngin, I’m sure he will be quite the alpha male:)

mackenzie fireMackenzie Fire by Elle Casey.  I finally bought this book and I’m so excited to read it.  I loved the first book and I regret that it sat on my shelf for so long.

easy kissesEasy Kisses by Kristen Proby.  Kristen Proby could write a phone book and I would read it. She is absolutely one of my go to authors.  I’ve read all the books in this series and will continue to do so.  She has the second book in her Fusion series coming out in August and I’ll be all over that too!  That makes 10!!

What’s on your list?

Happy reading.
