Hello friends! It’s been over a year and a half since I’ve written a book review! Can you believe it?! I lost my love of reading during COVID when I feel into a depression. I’m out of it now and back on my reading kick! I recently celebrated my 50th birthday and got a kindle gift card for it – so I treated myself to a bunch of books by two of my favorite authors – Kristen Proby and Aurora Rose Reynolds. And a Meghan Quinn book that I want to re-read (which I never do; I’m evolving:) Anyway, on to the book review!

So book two of the O’Callaghan series focuses on brother Shawn. He’s a screenwriter tasked with turning a book into a screenplay for Luke Williams (With Me in Seattle series, book 1). Lexi, the writer, is a bit of an introvert. So much so that she thinks she’s agoraphobic. She’s in Seattle for a month to work out the screenplay with Shawn.

I had a hard time connecting with Lexi at first. She was very rigid and set in her ways. I immediately loved Shawn though. He was fun. It’s been a long while since I read book one, but it came back to me quickly, and the other O’Callaghan siblings all make an appearance. I LOVE them. I am Irish and have a big extended family, so I can really relate to this big Irish bunch.

After a while, I did start to warm up to Lexi as she started to come out of her shell. I did feel this book was a bit rushed and the romance moved really fast at points, then slow at others, if that makes sense. It was a little uneven, but still a really cute story that I would recommend. I can also loan it out since I own it, so if you’d like to read it, let me know and I would be happy to loan it to you!

I’ve already purchased books 3 and 4 and they are on the to read list.
