The final book in the Unexpected Arrivals series focuses on Kenton (Kent) Baldwin, Uncle Kent to all the adorable kiddos from all the other books. Kent is kind of a brooding man – and we realize it’s because he was in love with someone, and let her get away. He doesn’t know where the woman is, and he hasn’t been able to move on.
The Beckett Construction guys get a job to renovate the Nottingham estate – and Kent comes face to face with his long lost love, Delaney Nottingham. Things do not go as planned. I really don’t want to say why, because I don’t want to spoil the book, but it’s big. It’s big and it’s very believable.
I have loved Kent since book one, and his story did not disappoint. He was such a sweet, loving man, who is so great with kids.
Delaney had some serious mamma drama which I found pretty annoying, and I hated the character of her mother. I found her backstory very interesting, and it took a turn I did not see coming, and I loved it.
This was a very fitting end to this series, though I will admit, I would have liked an epilogue with a glimpse into the future, where we get to see everyone like 5 years down the road. Who knows, maybe Ms. Ryan will use the kids from this series for her next series of books. The boys will be great alphas!
I would recommend both this book and this series.
