Getting pregnant after a booze cruise hookup was not what any parent wanted to hear, so I picked up my entire life and moved to Paris to start over. Six years later, I was ready to go home.
Natasha Madison has quickly become one of my very favorite authors, and I’m very bummed that I missed the two books preceding this one. That will soon be rectified.
You can read what the book is about above – two people who hook up, don’t exchange last names, find each other again six years later and try to make it right.
Eliahn (which I have no idea how to pronounce – Eli or Elli) gets pregnant on a booze cruise and runs away to Paris with her son for six years (this made no sense – why would you move to a strange city to raise a child on your own, but I digress). She decides she misses her family, and comes home to a party thrown by her very rich lawyer father.
While at the party, she is reunited with her hookup – who is also her son, Aiden’s, father. Luca is stunned to look into eyes that are identical to his, but honestly, the guy jumps in feet first and gets right into being Aiden’s dad. He decides he’s wasted enough time not seeing his son grow up and that ends now. It turns out that Eli and Luca also live right next door to one another, which makes co-parenting their son much easier.
As I said above, I’m not sure why Eli decided to move to a foreign country to raise her baby. That part of the story made so sense, but it certainly didn’t take away from the story.
Luca was a really amazing character. He really wanted to be a part of Aiden’s life, from the minute he met him. It was so sweet and endearing. He stepped up to the plate and wasn’t backing down.
Eli was a really good mom, and she was a likable character. There are some laugh out loud moments in this book. Luca’s friends are really hilarious. Both sets of parents were great.
I love a single parent story, especially when there is a great kid involved, and Aiden – he was a great kid. This kid was really funny, and personally responsible for one of the funniest scenes in the book.
This was a great second chance romance story and I loved every minute of it. I would highly recommend it.
