Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that originated on The Broke and The Bookish. As of January 2018, it moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:
Top Ten series I won’t be finishing
Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Read 1-20 and gave up.
Divergent Series by Veronica Roth. Read book 1 only.
Reapers MC series by Joanna Wylde. Read book 1 and didn’t like it.
Alpha series by Jasinda Wilder. Alpha was one of the worst books I’ve ever read. Don’t care to read on.
Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian. Read books 1-10 but lost interest in the genre.
The Burg Series by Kristen Ashley. Read book 1. Kind of over KA in general.
Cotton Malone series by Steve Berry. Read books 1-6 but they are SO long.
Elements series by Brittainy C. Cherry. Read book 1, which was so bizarre. No interest in going forward.
Eve Duncan series by Iris Johansen. Read 5 or 6 but it’s just so depressing.
Alex Delaware series by Jonathan Kellerman. Read 16 or so and hated his girlfriend and got bored, so I stopped reading.
What series have you given up on?
Great choices!
I haven’t read Divergent yet, but I really don’t feel like it.
Thanks.
I read the first Divergent and really liked it, but somehow I just never brought myself to pick up the next one either..
I didn’t love Divergent, but I heard about the next two and I was like “no thanks”
Reapers series….I didn’t really gel with book 1 either but I read Reapers Legacy (think it’s book 2) and loved it so much I have reread about 7 times!
Wow! Sometimes I wish I was a re-reader….
I don’t have many books on my reread pile but sometimes when I’m in a slump I pull one of those babies out and I’m back in the game!!!
I made it #18 on the Stephanie Plum series! I’m glad I did and fully love it but I’m done too! I wonder if it’s still going on?
Oh yes, it sure it. 20 was the end for me. It was really bad.
Oh no! I *love* the Stephanie Plum series. It’s coming out with book 25 this year and I’m on book 23. I know people are fed up with the whole love-triangle thing, but if you put that aside, I just love the characters and the humour.
I went as long as I could. The love triangle, the dumb story lines. I just had to stop. But I’m glad you still like it:)
I commend you on actually giving up on a series. I find it so hard to stop reading things once I’ve started them. One that I absolutely hate, but still keep reading for whatever reason is the Agatha Raisin series. It’s just so badly written.
