Given his well-earned bad boy reputation, Eric is having a tough time scoring.. When single Jean moves to town, she seems heaven sent by the sex gods. Only problem is, she not only wants nothing to do with him, but it turns out that she’s pregnant.

Starting over in a small town, Jean is determined to turn her wild lifestyle around and be the kind of mother she always wished she’d had. Since local bar owner and all round hottie, Eric Collins, is now determined to steer clear of her pregnant self, it should be easy. When she goes into labour during a snow storm and her car slides on some ice, it’s Eric who comes to the rescue.

There seems to be a bond between them now, but is it enough? And can Eric give up his manwhore ways to be the man Jean needs?

Book 3 of the Dive Bar series focuses on Eric, co-owner with Nell and Lydia. He meets a beautiful young woman in the bar one day, only to discover she’s pregnant. Eric and Jean, the young pregnant woman become friends. And despite his player status, things start to change once the baby is born.

I’ve read the entire Stage Dive and Dive bar series and I’ve liked them all, but I think Eric’s book is in the top 3. I loved watching Eric’s growth and transformation during the course of the book. I really hated Nell though – she was such a horrible bitch to Eric. I get that she was pregnant, and they have history, but she was really just awful.

Most of the people affiliated with Dive Bar gave Eric a hard time and a bad rap; one I don’t really think he deserved. Yes, he likes women, but that doesn’t make him a bad guy. Watching Eric’s relationship with Jean, then with her daughter, Ada was so sweet. He was so great with Jean and the baby, and I loved how Jean stood up and defended Eric when his friends were being assholes to him.

Jean was just a total sweetheart. She was such a good mom and tried so hard. She acted so much older than her 22  years.  Jean moved to Idaho from Florida, knowing one person, because her parents were awful and she needed to get away from them. Jean’s parents were pretty awful characters, so it was good to see that Jean turned out to be a good person, unlike them.

This is a real slow-burn romance, but the payoff is so worth it. Very good read. I would recommend this book and the whole series.
