Goodreads Summary

It’s just a docuseries about your career as an OB/GYN, they said.
It won’t interrupt your life during or after filming, they said.
It is a great opportunity for the hospital and your practice, they said.

Well, they—the television executives who seem intent on ruining my career and personal life with a fair number of creative liberties—lied.
Now I’m stuck dealing with the consequences of believing them.

Instead of being known as Dr. Will Cummings, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke’s Hospital, I’m now being called Dr. Obscene.

What devotion I’d hoped to earn in respect, I’ve instead received in patients flashing me seductive smiles and flirtatious winks during their exams.

How’s a guy supposed to convince the most perfect woman he’s ever met that he’s not as much of an idiot in real life as he appears to be on camera?

With all of the show’s side effects taking root like parasites, it’s going to take a lot to persuade Melody Marco to be anything more than my new nurse.
But I can’t get her out of my head.

I want her.

Good thing I’ve never been one to back away from a challenge…

Get ready, Melody.

The doctor is in.

Dr. Ob is the first book in the St. Luke’s docuseries series, and a spin-off of the Billionaire’s series. For those of you who read that series, Georgia (from Tapping the Billionaire) is the sister of Dr. Will Cummings, whom this book is about.

Will is an OB/GYN at St. Luke’s in New York. The hospital has agreed to participate in a documentary about the hospital, and the first doctor featured is Will. Once the series starts to air, it paints Will as a sex symbol, and his patient count starts to grow. He’s in the process of hiring a new nurse, and it’s been hard to find one who is not interested in dating Will, who is portrayed in the series as Dr. Obscene, which kind of becomes his nickname.

Enter Melody Marco. Her parents know Will’s parents, and she recently moved back to town after a bad breakup.  Her mother encourages her to apply for the job at Will’s office (she’s an OB/GYN nurse), and when she does, she’s hired on the spot, thanks to her not having seen The Doctor is In, the name of the documentary.

I have to say, this book was laugh out loud funny. There were some incredibly hilarious situations that took place in that doctor’s office. Will’s good looks, along with the way he’s portrayed in the show, bring women in to the office in droves.

There are also some hilarious side characters. We got to see our old friends, from the first series – Thatch and Cassie, Winnie and Wes, and of course Georgia and Kline. We also met Marlene, Will’s hilarious nurse. She alone was hilarious.

Both characters were so funny and likable. Will was especially amazing. The lengths he was willing to go to so Melody could have her dream was really sweet. Melody was a very kind and caring nurse, very concerned for her patients without adequate access to health care. Together they were amazing.

I’m super excited to continue to reading this series.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it.
