4 out of 5 stars

Southern Desire is the follow up to Southern Pleasure and is the story of Aaron Mills, brother of McKinley from book 1.

Aaron is a farmer in Kentucky.  Kinley hires another photographer to help at her studio, now that she has a baby, and she hires Whitney.  Whitney lost her mother to breast cancer, and moved to Kentucky from Chicago to be closer to her family.  She meets Aaron right away, and is instantly attracted to him.

Aaron is such a sweet guy.  He always felt that when he met “the one”, he would now right away.  It does happen – it happened for me (technically our second date, but he hadn’t even kissed me and I knew).  He and Whit become friends, and start hanging out together.  Whit has breakdowns over her loss, and Aaron is there for her.

Whit has some real issues when it comes to opening herself up.  She knows there is a possibility she could carry the cancer gene.  To the point that she couldn’t open herself up to love.  Aaron didn’t back down though, and I loved him for it.

The writing was solid, and story flowed well.  There were a few grammatical errors, but not many.  Overall, this was a solid read and I would recommend this series.

Happy reading.
