My Throwback Thursday for this week is my favorite movie from 1986; which was released 30 years ago. My favorite movie of 1986 is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Every child of the 80’s loves John Hughes films, and Ferris Bueller is one of the most iconic films of the 1980’s and it was filmed in my very own hometown of Chicago. The movie stars Matthew Broderick, Mia Sara and Alan Ruck.
Ferris Bueller is a high school senior in a Chicago suburb, and a very popular guy at his school. His best friend Cameron is not popular and kind of a downer, but he generally does whatever Ferris has him do. Ferris decides to ditch school on a beautiful May day and enlists his friend Cameron to come with him for a day of fun. Ferris also gets his girlfriend, Sloane, out of school for the day.
One iconic scene from the movie is the parade scene, where Ferris jumps on a parade float and sings Twist & Shout by the Beatles. I think of that scene every time I hear that song.
If you have not seen Ferris Bueller, I would recommend it.
