Book Review – With a Twist by Sawyer Bennett

Goodreads Summary

Wyatt Banks is ready to give one woman the world. Unfortunately, his job as a cop tends to interfere with other goals. When Wyatt is sent deep undercover to investigate a sex slave ring, he doesn’t have time to do anything but focus on staying alive in a dark and dangerous underworld.

Sensual couple

Wyatt isn’t alone though in his quest to save the women that are being sold into sexual slavery.

His partner, FBI Agent Andrea Somerville, is immersed just as deeply as he is, and she’s the bait to lure the sex slavers out into the open, as she poses as an erotic dancer in an attempt to snare the enemy. But danger runs as high as the sparks between them, and now Wyatt is caught between the job he loves and the woman he wants.

4 1/2 out of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in the Last Call series by Sawyer Bennett and by far the best one.  With a Twist is the story of Wyatt, a cop who is called in to work in an undercover sting operation to take down a dirty SOB who sells women into slavery, and Andrea, an FBI agent who goes in as a stripper to bring down the same operation.

This book had a much darker storyline than the previous three books, and I think that is what I found appealing about it.  Andrea and Wyatt met under some extreme circumstances, working together to bring down a corrupt organization that sells women into slavery (yuck).

The suspense in this book was pretty believable, and the pace moved nicely.  I was engaged from the beginning, and SB writes these books in the first person, alternating POV, which I LOVE.

I freaking loved Wyatt.  We’ve met him briefly in the other books, but it was nice to have a whole book dedicated to just him.  Andrea was a pretty tough chick too, and she endured the shit they went through while undercover like a champ.

I really enjoyed this book, and I would recommend it.

Happy reading.
