Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan

Book description from

When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer’s Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love.

My review:

Thank you to my goodreads friend Amy for recommending this book to me.  Archer Hale is a twenty-three year old man who has suffered a major trauma in his life and lives in solitary.  Bree Prescott moves to Pelion, Maine, and meets Archer and is instantly drawn to him.  Over time,  Bree and Archer form a friendship.

In the meantime, Archer comes to terms with his past in order to move forward, and Bree is dealing with her own issues.  I won’t tell you what their issues are, because it would be a spoiler, and I don’t do spoilers, but I will tell you this book is not at all what I expected, but it was very, very good!

This book was well written, with great characters and good drama.  I liked that it was told from Bree and Archer’s POV’s.  I love hearing both sides of the story.  I also liked the townspeople of Pelion and how accepting they were of Bree.    Great, great story and I would highly recommend.

My recommendation:

Read it.
